What is a Dahabiya Nile Cruise?

The Dahabiya Luxury Nile Cruise gives you a sailing experience on the river Nile that allows you to explore the ancient sites of Egypt in a traditional way. No engines, just the sound of the wind caressing the boat sails as you glide effortlessly along the famous river. The great explorers of the past would have sailed the Nile on these types of boat. Dahabiya takes you on a small cruise boat which combines historical and mystical sightseeing with the peace and tranquillity of a Nile cruise as you dreamt it should be.

Dahabiya Nile Cruise Review: A Dahabiya Nile cruise is a luxury, intimate, and slow-paced sailing experience on a traditional, shallow-draft wooden vessel, typically accommodating only 10–20 guests. Unlike large, noisy cruise ships, these boats rely on wind or towing to visit smaller islands and secluded temples between Luxor and Aswan

Dahabiya Nile Cruises: The elegant, well-appointed Dahabiya Nile Cruise features just a few spacious cabins offering guests a true taste of refined luxury and relaxed privacy.

Enjoy the warmth of the Egyptian sun on the ship’s splendid sun deck or relax in the Jacuzzi while soaking up the sights as they smoothly slide by.

A Dahabiya Nile Cruise revives the heyday of luxury Nile Cruises while offering modern comforts and conveniences. The Dahabiya is a two-masted sailing boat that relies on wind power alone with no engine. This gives it something that is in very short supply nowadays: silence! Enjoy the peace and stillness of a river cruising atmosphere absent of engine noise but filled instead with the caress of wind upon the 2 large sails that will transport you across this famous river.

Welcome to the Nile Cruise experience that has been enjoyed for centuries, even millennia. A Dahabiya is a traditional cruise ship that operates in comfort and predates the diesel and even Nile steamers that we see today.
