Visit from Aswan or as part of your Lake Nasser cruise.
Carved out of a mountain, four gigantic statues of Ramses II wait to impress. Built as a show of strength these statues gaze across Lake Nasser and guard the fabulous temple.
Tour by coach/car leaving at 0500hrs for a 3.5hr trek south. Spend 2-3 hours at Abu Simbel before returning to Aswan.
For those that prefer, you can also do Abu Simbel by plane. This is from £210pp and involves a short flight from Aswan Airport to Abu Simbel Airport.
