Travel by train in Egypt is easy.

From, Cairo, one of the world’s most fascinating cities, a popular route is then along the Nile to Luxor. There’s no need to pre-book, it’s easy to travel independently by train and book on the day at the station but you can also use local website or app. It’s good to check the times on there too, although these can be ‘loose’ but other than that, they are cheap, reliable, fun and immersive.

Egyptian Railways are a good option to travel between Cairo, Luxor, Aswan, Alexandria, Port Said & Suez.
