FCDO Advice:The official government advice at the moment remains that only essential travel to Egypt should take be taking place from 17th May 2021. This is based on the current assessment of COVID-19 risks. This obviously means that holidays will not be ready just yet, but this is being worked hard on by everyone concerned and will be updated shortly.
What List Is Egypt On?
Egypt is on The Amber List:
From 17th May 2021 Egypt is moving to the amber list of worldwide destinations which means that you can visit these countries by following certain protocol.
Amber List: Self-isolate for 10 days, unless you receive a negative result from a test taken at least five days after arrival. Take a pre-departure test, and PCR tests on day two and day eight of your arrival in the UK.
Safe Holidays to Egypt
Is it safe to travel to Egypt now? Egypt is now open for daily business and getting ready to welcome tourists. You will need a recent Covid test certificate when you arrive. Hotels are following strict hygiene and physical distancing rules for staff and guests, including temperature checks on arrival and masks in some indoor settings. You will also find other adaptations such as chef-served buffets, well-spaced loungers at the beach and pools and plenty of hand sanitising stations.
